This week I am honored to share my Pastor’s (Bro. Rick Flowers of Emmanuel Pentecostal) message from a couple of weeks ago.  I asked for his notes and he agreed.  With his permission I am rewriting the material.  The foundational scripture for the message was from Luke 11:31, “The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.”  We know the “Queen of the South” was no one other than the Queen of Sheba who crossed the desert by camel for weeks just to see if what she had heard about Solomon’s wisdom and the wealth of his kingdom was true.  We all know the story – what she saw and heard took her breath away and far beyond anything she could have imagined.  Now here in this scripture in Luke it is Jesus himself telling them that One greater than Solomon was with them.  Of course, He was referring to Himself.

Before comparing Jesus to Solomon let’s look at Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulders: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government there shall be no end……”

This one scripture alone should settle once and for all any questions one might have on who Jesus is?  In comparing Solomon to Jesus there is really only one similarity and that is that Solomon was the Son of David and Jesus was also called the Son of David. But that is where the similarities end.

I am going to put this study into two columns as Pastor Flowers gave it to me so you can visually compare the incomparable Christ to Solomon. I pray this messages is as much of a blessing to you as it was to me.
