Today let us examine the God of absolutes.  Have you noticed how increasingly the world is sinking into an abyss of moral depravity?  This is the doctrine of relativism that is being propagated throughout the media and airwaves.  Anyone who dares to say that there is a God in heaven who rules over the affairs of men in righteousness becomes a target of ridicule.  Can you see the spirit of anti-christ exalting itself?  Recently,  the GOP Senate candidate from Delaware made the clarion statement that homosexuality was an “identity disorder”.  She immediately became the object of mockery, because the world cannot accept that there are any established moral codes by which we are to live.  However, all the preaching of right-living and ethics can only lead to a brick wall that is impossible to climb over.  No one has ever been able to make themselves good enough to approach a holy God.  The Lord Jesus did not come to this world to condemn the world, but to show the way of escape through Him.

Thank God He did not visit this earth to gather only good people, because I definitely would have been left behind.  Human reasoning is attempting to build a world-wide religion that says if we just do enough good, somehow God will weigh it all in His celestial balance scales, and the good deeds will outweigh the bad we have done. Of course, good is defined differently by different man-made religions.   Religion based on human reasoning believe we will be accepted on our own merit. Islam believes Allah will grant heaven’s reward for those who die a martyrs death and kill the most infidels.

Notice that many false religions claim a “prophet” behind them who reveals the ultimate revelation for mankind.  Muslims idolize Mohammed.   Most Mormons believe perfection in this life is possible and obedience to their prophet Joseph Smith will grant heaven’s access.  Jesus is more than a prophet – He is the mighty God clothed in human flesh, and the only door into heaven.

The “absolute truth” is that without the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Ghost, we are simply none of His.  We are held captive by our sins in the dungeon of darkness.  We may see an occasional glimpse of light because the Lord never leaves us without hope, but a truly repentant heart is looking for a way of escape. The Word of God is the candle which illuminates our soul to see the truth from within.  The longer we spend in denial of our true condition before God the harder it gets to say,  “ Lord, heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.  I acknowledge my sins.  Forgive me and wash me thoroughly from my sins  Create in me a clean heart. ”  These Burdens

The devil’s major weapon is fear.  This is how he keeps his captives in a perpetual state of condemnation and misery, throwing them doses of mind-numbing substances and illusions,  hoping they will eventually overdose on his deceptive filth.  It is the Lord Jesus that Satan hates. No matter how long he has been practicing his deceitful crafts and subtleties, the light of Jesus Christ dispels all darkness with one spoken Word.

This past week I received a letter from a prisoner who fell  greatly into sin after coming out of darkness and living for God.  This man understands the mercy of God in a way most will never know.  He feels his life now is to warn others that you cannot play with the flesh – it will take you straight to a devil’s hell.  He never dreamed he would fall so far,  but with one foot in hell the Lord reached out and snatched him back because the man repented of his sins.  He wrote this poem that says it all.  I am protecting his name,  but he gave me permission to use his poem as I felt led of the Lord.

Just One Drop

Just one drop of Jesus’ blood, will wash away your sins

Just one drop of Jesus’ blood, will protect you in the lion’s den.

Just one drop of the Lamb’s blood, can save the world

Just one drop of the Lamb’s blood lets us walk with our Lord.

Just one drop of God’s blood, protects us from the enemy’s flood

Just one drop of God’s blood, gives us peace like a dove

Just one drop of Jesus’ blood, will raise us from the grave

With just one drop of Jesus’ blood, you and me can be saved.

If  just one person reading this blog feels the love of God tugging on their heart, yield to Him now.  He will forgive and desires to fill you with His Spirit and wash away your sins in the waters of baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus.  It is all in the name of Jesus Christ.  There is no other way we can be saved.  Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.  He can turn your mourning into gladness.

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteouness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3

“The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing”.
